let's hope they bring one out in 1/72 scale...

Seriously, you probably won't like it in that scale. When I got my AH-6 Stealth (the wrong choice for this conversion, ugly gold canopy), I was shocked at how tiny the kit is. Seriously, in 48, it is absolutely tiny! I could not imagine this in 72nd. One of two things would happen. It would either be so small, that there would be no detail at all. Or, it would have way too much detail, looking more and more silly by mad rivets and panel lines that in scale, would be the size of a swimming pool.

I had bought the AH-6 Stealth, thinking that was the only kit these conversions worked with. I screwed up and cut out the rear door on one bird, only to realize that there was no door and I just destroyed the fuselage. My blessing in disquise. I have ordered proper kits with clear canopies to do this conversion. One as the AH-6J,the other an MH-6. These were intended to be my first builds in a very long time. My last build was in the late 80's, so I am basically starting over again. The two kits that are wrong, will be test kits for the new tools and methods I learning online.

If you really want to do a little bird, just go with the new Kitty Hawk kits in 35th. Or if you like a challenge, go with the police helicopter in 48th, then use the CMK conversion. They have A conversion or M, I am doing both.

Should be fun, hope this helps!

Just a small head-up for the decal options:

Some of the birds were converted many times, so check your pics and time frame !! Hope this helps a bit. Jakub

81-23653 MH-6E to MH-6H
81-23655 EH-6E to MH-6E
81-23636 MH-6E to MH-6H to MH-6J to MH-6M
84-24683 AH-6F to AH-6G to AH-6M - probably not useful with this conversion
88-25356 AH-6J - probably not useful with this conversion
90-25361 MH-6J
95-25371 AH-6J - probably not useful with this conversion

Ok, now you got me worried. I have not built a model in 30+ years, so to get back into it, I choose this kit with weapons upgrades. I have a second kit, but still need to find this upgrade with running boards, they should make a nice pair. I am hoping to have the two from the same period, maybe even same mission. Can anyone say Irene?

Now that I am getting back into modelling after such a long layoff, I for some reason care a lot about accuracy of the models/numbers, but I am not yet able to tell one version from the other, just by sight.

Can you elaborate on the changes, or tell me what two versions I can build safely as accurate kits. One again is the CMK weapons upgrade kit, the second will be this kit. Need them to be accurate since I plan to display them together.

Thanks in advance, Anthony Stalker6recon D'Agostino

Hi, the best will be go over ARC page forums and ask/look there, as there is a specific AH-6 thread. You could find the best info there, or just ask. I am not that big expert on specific version... Thanks !
