Aaron River This was a christmas stocking filler from my mum christmas just gone.. 2016, and i have to say I'm actually frilled to be honest, not because it's a great kit (not meaning in anyway it's a bad kit) or any where near some of the high end exspensive 1:35 and 1:32 kits i buy my self but because i'm 40 in 2 months and i've been building modells in one form or another since i was a liittle child and as a serious hobby for at least 10+ years and this was the first time anyone, epsecially my mum has bought me a kit as a present, the only other time was when i asked my mum for money for christmas (instead of a load of destined to be returned for credit note presents) to buy a large selection of brand new in the boxs warhammer stuff at a greatly reduced price from ebay about 7 years ago, (before i got into and switched over to Military scale modelling) and i was met with the usual "im not giving you money to watse on that rubbish" So to findthat she had gone out and bought me a modell kit and a military one at that off of her own back left me smiling for the rest of the day, and that it only took aprox 12 years for her to realise that this is more than just a hobby for me and for a lot of us, it's a passion.

gorby Over forty years ago I told my mum that I was saving up for an aircraft book I had seen in a local shop. I didn't really expect her to take much notice, in her mind it was nothing interesting or educational and up to that point in my childhood, I flitted from one interest to another. The following day, when I got home from school I found that she had bought it for me. It was an expensive book, it was nowhere near Christmas or birthday and we weren't particularly affluent, and even as a kid I was moved that it was such a thoughtful thing for her to do. I still have the book and it was the start of a lifelong interest in aviation. Thanks Mum!
So I can understand why that little kit made you smile. Hopefully you will post the photos of on here when you build it.
